Its short for Flicker or woodpecker call, two different types yellow hammer and red flicker, work very well all year long!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
The flicker that we use is actually a Northern Flicker. It is another type of woodpecker. Our woodpecker distress is a yellow hammer woodpecker. The yellow hammer seems to work better in most cases. We have also added some new bird distress sounds. The bird sounds seem to be very popular, esp. for bobcats. They work very well for coyotes also.
AC,
The Flicker on your sound card is the Northern Flicker. We also have a Yellow shafted Flicker. I have recorded a Yellowhammer, Pileated, Red Headed, Downey and Hairy Woodpecker.
I included what I found to be the most productive Woodpecker and Flicker sound.
