? For the Flextone Echo HD ER1 Owners

I received my Flextone several days ago and itching to test it out, been getting too much rain so it will have to wait. An option to add an external speaker would be a nice mod. Shouldn't be hard to do, once I take mine out and see what it has for volume in the field I might make that mod if it needs more "spunk".

Irish have you had a chance to see how the volume compares to other electronic calls?
 
I had it beside a Foxpro FX7 for all of 20 seconds before his batteries died so I didn't have much time to evaluate it. The Foxpro was louder but the sound quality was just as good coming out of the Echo in my opinion. I'll try and get them side by side again after Christmas.

The first night out I called in a fox. The second night I called in a fox. The fourth night I called in a bobcat. I've gone out about 6 times since and haven't called in anything except I heard a fox barking at me one night.

It works, I just have limited spots to hunt and I'm overhunting them. And I don't think the full moon has helped anything the last week either.

I'd like to know what others think also. Going to order another e-caller soon. Looking at the FP spitfire but will take a look at the flextone. Am able to get the spitfire at 10% over dealer cost. Just wondering about the sound quality and the range of the remote.
 
First of all I am very new to Coyote hunting.I have had my Flextone caller out twice so far. Both times I was in heavey woods with limited long range vision of any predator that may have been coming in.Just mostly scouting for places to hunt after deer season is out. Yesterday I went out for about three hours in the middle of the day. The caller seems to work good and is well constructed.The remote works fine so far at about 150 yards in the woods.I can get the crows to come in quick.There is no external speaker jack that would be a plus if it had one.The unit does have dual speakers that you can work both or front and rear.All in all I think the caller will work out ok will post more results as I test.Mike
BTW I got at WildlifeCallers $116.00 plus shipping.

Is how I rate the one I got this year. First morning it was 9°F out and the displays froze up and couldn't see what critter I was sending to the main unit. On the second morning after being charged all night it went dead in about 15 minutes.

I got about 400 yds on the remote turning it on. I was above my set up tracking a wounded coyote(got it) and on the way back I hit ON at that range (I was testing it), now I could not hear it, but when I got 50yds from the caller it was on & working. The area was clear/open range. Cant say how it would do in the woods or with anything blocking it. My personal rating on the caller is a D.
