For your Entertainment

I consider myself pretty picky when it comes to shots and I think I would have pulled the trigger about 20 times. LoL

However, being from the South myself I know your pain when all you have to hunt is skidder rows and fire breaks in loblolly/long leaf.

You could try a good sharp blast like a hoot owl when you see an opening coming up. Be ready to howl quick if he doesn't stop, sometimes 3 or 4 times. I saw a couple.

Guess I’m slow on the trigger. I don’t have a big population of coyotes to start with and when I do get on one I want to make every shot count. I didn’t see anywhere that I felt confident in a shot. If I was to have taken a shot at any point, it would have been where he stopped in the grass. I pick my shots and as a result, lose very few. I personally would rather wait than to miss and spook him, or worst yet, wound. Seems every time I have taken marginal shots has resulted in something negative. I hate that dreaded feeling of missing or wounding.

I did mute the call hoping he’d stop to reevaluate, instead he thought it was going away I guess and picked up speed. I “woofed” twice and nothing, but loud squeaks stopped him, just not where I squeaked, lol. I did have the wind in my favor, too much so I guess.
