Forming 223 from other brass?

There are several cartridges in common use based on the 223 case because it's common and available. Well, you've probably noticed it isn't common or available right now.
Is there any reason I couldn't buy another more available brass and form to 223? 204 Ruger comes to mind as a good choice, it's still plentiful on the shelves around here. Could be as simple as running it through my 223 die and trimming?

You can also use 222 Magnum, though it's hard to find (even in "Good" times) and expensive.

204 brass works very well though. I think it is the best use of 204 brass as well.
