Found a responding pair

Since my last posted video, I have been out 6 nights for 19 sets. Been bow hunting and "just being lazy :giggle:". Last night I had 4 sets on 4 properties planned out. First place-nothing. 3-1/2miles down the road to #2-nothing. 14miles back toward home for #3 is where this takes place, didn't make it to #4.
It is just a few days from the full moon and clear skies so really bright. I get here and set up about 11:20. I am tucked next to a large tree on the edge of this pasture, and the call is on a brush pile about 25yds in front of me, wind is from my right going down the hollow. I let out 2 howls and get an immediate response from 2 (I think) in front of me in the next small hollow maybe 250ish away. I am now thinking 'be quiet' and they will come. ~10min later I have seen nothing so send some rabbit for 2-3min, then a pecker for 2-3 min. Still nothing. Went right into a submissive for a couple min then a whine and here they come. I mute, get in the gun and see that they have stopped. Knowing they are inside 200, I send it.
Onx says 170. 19-20min from the first howl and the 70 Sierra VK passed from the front of the rt shoulder to exit just behind the lt front leg. Big male with about 10 white tail tips so I guess a 2 ptr.
Ran a kiyi for a bit but the other did not show. Sat in silence and after about 10 it started barking and howling so I stayed another hour and a half doing many different things, even the final 30min of silence didn't make it curious but it let me know it was still there until about 15min before I called it quits.

Yea Bob, he was a toad. Felt N of 40# but I don't carry a scale anymore so can't confirm.
Bud, PIP is always on and used to shoot unless they are really close. Pulsar allows the PIP to be magnified independently from the main screen so I keep the main screen on 3x for FOV when there are multiples in play and the PIP on 12 or 15x depending on how far I might be able to shoot. The PIP is never really "in focus" doing this but as Alf says, I am shooting for "minute of coyote".

Thanks fellas. I had a pair of REALLY GOOD sets about 4 wks ago but have been back to my ā€œnormalā€ many fruitless sets between action. Felt good to see and shoot one.
