Went out for a look in the afternoon and took along one of those hand held rechargeable spotlights because i thought i would stay out till it got dark and when it was time to start walking back to the car i would use the light ,and in luck got a glimpse of a set of fox eyes trotting along in the distance .Had to run a bit to cut him off at a distance about 150yrds as he was heading for a tree line and took a running shot with the 270 and he dropped. Also along the way we saw a ferral cat which a friend dropped it with a head shot with a 22lr.

Looks like a fine night in the bush. I find it difficult to gather enough news of our brothers in other countries. Its been my understanding that Australia outlawed the private possession of firearms. Is my info just completely wrong or have they relented? We are keeping a cautious eye on the idiots running our country to prevent such a thing here.

Is that a big feral cat or a small fox? Like mastablasta, we've heard all kinds of rumors about other countries and their gun laws. I know lots of guys shoot fox in Australia, Great Britian, so must be some legal ways to do it.

private gun ownership is ok in Australia as long as you are a member of a club or have a place to shoot eg; a farm or property or collectors licence etc.It was all the automatic weapons that are harder to get since some crazy guy went mad with a fully auto rifle at a tourist place in Tasmania and did the worlds worst shooting massacre and plus the Liberal goverment where in power at that time which they took alot of other rights and freedoms away from people and organisations. You can still get semiautos here but the licence is alot harder to get.I dont see why law abiding people have to suffer because of criminals who just dont care about others.

The fox is about small to medium size also it had a bit of mange around the tail.Alot of the feral cats look real well fed thats because they eat a few thousand native animals in there liftime and birds etc .Shot a feral cat a while ago in the bush which was huge .

That Red looks to better than 1/2 grown.

Many moons ago, my Dad as a youth. Watched an adult Red run across the park & grab/kill a cat off of a front porch.

Of the three, which animal is considered the biggest pest in Australia, kangaroos, rabbits, or feral cats?

Can you hunt dingos? Do they come to a call?

Yes some places you can hunt them and they do come to calls also there is a big problem with freal dogs here to which hunters call.A friend of mine just got back from a station and had seen some and also some wild goats aswell but didnt have time as they were after some camels.

Buffalo,few types of deer,elk,scrub bull,camel,donkeys are a few i know of.

I also belong to AHN and enjoy the visits every day. They have some Cows and Buffalo that looks like a VW bus in size.

Visited one sight and they were showing someone shooting a big male Camel. That thing looks twenty five feet tall when it stood and pawed in mid air. Horses and Donkeys are post a lot of the time. It is just a goy to visit our Australian hunting friends and see how they live and hunt.

One of the most astonishing things is the cost of 4 wheel Toyotas here and the price you have to pay.
