foxpro firestorm volume

I may have a problem with my firestorm but am wondering if anyone else can confirm that their firestorm operates the same as mine or differently. My level 00 volume is playing the sound at a very low volume when i figured 00 would be no volume at all. The only way i can turn volume "off" during a stand is to mute the caller. The only problem with this is that the remote does not tell you if the caller is muted and sometimes i cant hear the sounds when the caller is 75 yards out and playing sounds at low volumes. I am just wanting to know if everyone elses caller is the same ...if not i may call foxpro. I really wished the remote signaled when the caller is muted...not complaining but it would help me out alot!

My Firestorm does play very, very low at 00 volume (barely audible with the caller sitting on my desk).

I wish there was an indicator on the remote telling you if the remote was in contact with the caller.

Mike That would be a nice feature. Anyone at FoxPro listening here?

If that is a feature you would like to see, the best way to make the suggestion would be an email or phone call to Foxpro. They may not see it here. That is a feature that is on my Foxpro remotes that I like.

Reb, are you saying you have that feature on your caller/remote?

I also think it would be a GREAT feature on ALL callers. SOOOOO many times the user has no idea if the caller is in *contact* with the remote and is doing what is being punched in on the remote keypad.

With my pizz poor hearing it's all that much worse because I usually can't hear what a caller is doing. Even at 50 yards, depending on the sound, I can't hear it most of the time. I always wonder if the volume really is going up or down or if the sound really changed like it was supposed to when I push the buttons.

If I knew 100%, without a doubt, the caller and remote were in contact with each other, I would KNOW it was doing what it was supposed to be doing. It would be a GREAT feature.

Foxpro or others, how hard would this be to do? Just a small led light or something would be enough.

Youngins, take care of your ears!!

My reply was to the original post about the remote telling if it is muted. My remote for my Scorpion and CS 24 has an "M" light up when I mute it. I thought all their remotes did. As for something confirming the call and remote are communicating, no mine dont. I dont know I have a need for that.

Back to the original poster, why are you placing your call 75 yards away. That now only creates a bigger scent cone but does not bring the coyotes in close. Place the call closer and the coyotes will come closer. You will also be able to hear the call better. I dont place mine more than 30 yards away. Keep the call close and have clear view of the antenna and you should not have any issues with the two of them communicating.

This is done with RC aircraft , It's called binding. Turn on the remote ( transmitter ) then turn on the aircraft/caller ( reciever ) when the reciever binds to the transmitter it's a lock. Now this is done with variable frequency radios but I don't see that it would be much more difficult.
The issue is going to be re-design (TX/RX) it would be a nice feature but it would most likely be a while coming.
