Foxpro Hellfire vs Ruger iHunt

This almost seems like an apples/oranges question but...

While I've generally read nothing but good about the Foxpro company as a whole, I've also read a lot of complaints about the range of the Hellfire remote. And the ability to read the display. (I have 57 year old eyes)

A lot of what I've read about the iHunt with the Extreme Dimension speaker is claiming 50-80 yard ranges from the phone.

Anybody seen or used them both in similar situations? If the range is close to the same, is there that much difference in the volume/clarity of the speakers?

Cabela's has the Hellfire for $169, the iHunt can be bought on Amazon for $42.

I'm not an everyday caller, just on my own and surrounding farms in southern Ohio, no long prairie shots here.

The difference in price isn't an issue, although I really don't want to go farther to the $300 range for the better remote.

What do you think?

Thanks

Fred

First off, do you hunt when it's cold? I bought the convergent bullet. It works fine when it's warm out, but smart phones do not like cold weather or extremely hot weather. I will never purchase a caller that doesn't come with its own remote. I would buy the hellfire. Phones are for phone calls. Lol.

I have the hellfire and it work's well enough, good volume clear sounds. But if you compare remote range with my fx3 it's disappointing. And yes the display can be hard to see.(we're the same age.)

I have been reading that the foxpro banshee has solved all these issues, but have no first hand experience. If I had to do it over the banshee would be the bees knees.

Hope this helps.

For $169 the hellfire is Winner. Many guys still using it. Make a little stand or get a mini tripod for it. Getting it elevated a bit will greatly help the remote range

Thanks Banshee remote has INCREDIBLE range
