Foxpro vs. Johnny Stewart ?

3rd Alarm

Ok guys, you all have been talking the foxpro up really big. My question is simply this, I have a JS612 tape caller and I call my far share of dogs. Is the foxpro stuff better or just more modern? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have both a Johnny Stewart 512LR (pre 612 model) and a Fox Pro 532R. So far both callers have worked well for me. The biggest advantage I see in the Fox Pro is having a lightweight caller with remote capabilities. Not having to deal with cassettes in cold weather is also a consideration. The Fox Pro is not as loud as my JS with the long range speaker but I have found the sound quality and volume of the Fox Pro to be more than adequate for calling both crows and coyotes.

I had a JS512 and it kicked butt. Never have played with the 612. But without question Stewart has some fine sounds in his library.

Depends on what you can afford. I have a foxpro now, both machines have done me well.......... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

gundog,

the saleman told me that if you were going to hunt a few times a year then the preymaster was fine, but if you are going to be useing the call several times a year the you want the 612

I see you are a uncle teddie fan! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

me!

Allpredatorcalls .com had the remote for $169.00 last I checked, it's a western rivers remote but works with JS and others. I ordered mine through JS repair center and they sent me the western rivers remote as well but for $179.00 I think. Either way well worth the money.
