FoxPro x360

Went Elk hunting with a friend to Idaho many years ago, now mind you my friend was a guide and in excellent shape. He had a custom .338 Lapua built and wanted to try it out that year. Long story short he said He'd NEVER take that rifle again it was a monster to carry around in the mountains. We ALL know weight matters... ounces = ponds
 
I just think at some point it starts getting ridiculous. I don't want most of the features that my x24 has for crying outloud. I just need it to sound like a rabbit so a coyote comes in. Foxbang, Foxdata, Foxmotion, Foxwhatever. Ugh. Stop. Just stop.

I am an engineer. I have seen this a million times. Companies make things because they can, not because they are needed or the public wants them. They think they need to have something new when the old works just fine. It is the way of justifying paychecks in the design department.

A pickup truck used to be affordable. Now, they are $100,000. It is because they add too much crap that is absurd. Even the big companies are infected with this disease.

I'm not paying $1500+ for a coyote call. Heck, I'll handcall before it comes to that.

I have as much right to my opinion as you do.

Did I ever complain about the weight? Nope.

You are a presumptuous idiot. I train 7 days a week, run 5 miles a day, lift weights 3x per week and have 2 black belts. Since you like to insult people you think are lazy, please tell the group what a physical badass you are. We are dying to hear it.

You are probably young and in pretty good shape, good for you. You are also somewhat of a jerk, if you live long enough perhaps you will look at things differently. You make fun of guys here that you don't even know. Weight matters at least to hunters with experience.
 
Read the review and I think Tony is spot on. Twelve pounds maybe fine if your 30, 6-4 and weigh 250. I used to compete for n backpack races and a 12 pound caller would be a beast for me, with a stool, shooting sticks rifle and caller, I would much prefer a M-2 Bandit/Scorpion sized caller with today's sound quality.
 
All kidding aside I was just pointing out how silly the “it’s too heavy!!” Rant is. Guys, we’re talking 11.5 pounds. On somthing the average coyotes caller is going to carry about a 1/4 mile.

Funny, the lucky duck super revolt weighs 6 pounds and cost 800 dollars. That’s 133 dollars per pound. The 360 cones in at 130 a pound. So your actually getting more fit your money 😂

That's a lot of weight for a caller compared to what most of us use now. Of course, it's lighter than the coyotes a lot of callers carry back to the truck, so there's that.
 
When first taking a buddy out coyote hunting I made the mistake of telling him to mount the thermal on his most accurate rifle.
That rifle was a model 40x 6mm Remington with a 24" bull barrel in a custom oak bench rest stock.
The tripod he had to support it was just as heavy.
He cursed me out the whole night while carrying his rig and tripod and I was cursing myself because I had to carry his chair.
He did shoot one coyote that night, but mounted the thermal on a svelte model seven 7mm-08 the next day.
This isn't my first rodeo.
Bigger doesn't mean betterer and I know for a fact that louder doesn't mean betterer too.
I'm not paying for it or carrying it, so if it's what you want to buy and use, go for it.
Weight is a consideration when I go out, so yes an 11 lb call would mean I'd have to lose some weight elsewhere and I'm not going on a diet.

DesertRam, now that's a great and novel idea. Since FoxPro added the ability to weigh the coyote with the remote, they should just go ahead and incorporate a call drag so that a hunter can drag the call in (well, maybe roll it in), but have attachments so that all those extra coyotes that come running in to the supercalifragilistic 360 can be dragged out along with the call.
 
As much as I agree with the above posters, weight is the least of my criticisms of the x360. Foxpro is just out of touch with their target market. I don't need a caller that does the dishes and will wash my cat. There is just too much useless crap that they are trying to use to justify the absurd price of this monstrosity.

When I am not night hunting, it is not unusual for me to walk 4-5 miles into areas I can't get to by truck. I would carry a 20 lb call if I thought it would help me. The x360 doesn't do anything more than I need out of a call that is lighter and less expensive.
