Frangible OO buck and slugs

I recently was given a case of 12 gauge OO Buck and case of 12 guage slugs all frangible ammo. What I was wondering is if you can use it for anything besides knocking down steel targets.

I have no idea it doesn't say just that its non toxic. I'm guessing it is some type of metal like bismuth or something similar that would be used in nontoxic shells. Its primary use is training for LE or shooting 3 gun competition so you don't get bounce back on steel targets. No sure what I will do with it not a three gunner but I will find something appropriate for it to be used for. Guess I will have to shoot some wet phone books and see what happens.

Non-Toxic firearm projectiles....That's funny.

My guess is that the buckshot & slugs are made on the same tin/copper compressed powder that's indide the jackets of rifle ammo like the TNT Green & Varmint Grenades.

It just pretty much turns to powder on impact.

I have fired some that we used for close in shots on steel during high risk building entry training. The projectiles were compressed zinc powder that turned to dust when they struck the target.
