Frankford Arsenal Vibratory Case Tumbler

Does anyone have any experience using Frankford Arsenal Vibratory Case Tumblers? My RCBS case cleaner just died, so I am looking for a new one.

Mine has quite a few miles on it and has served me well. I often leave it running with a pretty full load overnight; longer if I forget it.

I just got one 6 months ago and its dead. It wasnt the motor as much as it was the plastic bowl. For some reason mine broke where all of the bolts go through the plastic tabs at the bottom of the bowl. It may not have been tightened properly from the factory I really don't know. I decided to go ahead and go back to what I originally had which was a new Dillon. The Frankford Arsenal vibratory tumbler is a very good price as is most of their products. I have purchased about six of their items lately and they are a very good bargain but they are definitely on the cheaper end of manufacturing. I am slowly learning you definitely get what you pay for

That's for sure and I'm positive Dillon is top drawer as is everything they make.

When I bought mine 15+ years ago, they came highly recommended. Back then, I shot a minimum of 100 rounds/week (30-06) and for a couple of years even used mine to moly coat my bullets. Sounds as if FA may not be the quality they once were??? Believe I'd see if FA would make yours good....sure should last more than 6 months.

One thing for sure, you can't go wrong w/Dillon.

I still think the Frankford Arsenal unit is a great bargain. If I had to do it over again I would be sure and check those bolts and make sure they're tight. I'm going to try to order a new bowl from Frankford Arsenal when thry get them in stock, last time I checked they were out

^^^+1 IIRC they had more or less a lifetime guarantee when I got mine, but that's been a looong time ago.

I have mine for three years and run tons of cases through it usually over nite or longer because I forgot. It’s still kicking good.

My Midway 1292 is over 10 years old and no telling how many hundreds of hours running time it has on it. I do have a Thumbler's Tumbler too but for smaller jobs (50-100 cases) I use the vibratory quite a bit.

Mine has been running strong for over 5 years now. There have been many times where I forget about it and leave it on for 3 days or more. The bowl recently cracked but they sent me one.

They must be back in stock as mine just came in.

I have an earlier Midway model that is bigger, the 2094. It broke about two years after I bought it. I called customer service and they gave me the green light to return it. They fixed it (rebuilt the motor bracket and reinforced it) and returned it at no charge. My only cost was to ship it to them. That was many years ago and it has performed flawlessly ever since.

I called Franford Arsenal and they do indeed have the bowls in stock now. Though they wouldn't warranty it they did give me free shipping and a new bowl was only $9. Not too bad. I'm happy to get it back going.

On mine, the bowl is secured to base by the center screw which also secures the lid. When you mentioned bolts, I looked at the current model on line and see they have been re-designed.

As others have stated, can't even estimate the number of hours on my old unit.

Regards,
hm im looking forward to getting the new bowl in. Im really leaning towards those bolts either vibrated loose or were not tightened properly in the begining and that contributed to the bowl cracking and breaking. I plan to give it a dab of purple loc tite and see how it goes.
