Only restrictions I am aware of in the Republic of Texas :D is you cannot shoot from a public road or a vessel underway and the latter may be a federal law in re: migratory game. May be some restrictions on what little public land is available of which I am unaware.

Since my truck has a tonneau cover, I came up with a different setup which served us well. It was revised a number of times over the years for multiple service yet is still easily moved from one vehicle to another.

Predaror hunting..........................................Game lift (boat winch in truck bed).....Ooops, Big critter, little engineering issue,
And that was schedule 80 boom! Back to drawing board. Fate has a sense of humor, though, as the boom was bent at a 45* angle, so just turned boom 180*. Next revision was to enable switching to jeep. Added ATV winch to jeep bumper, added a vertical boom socket closer to receiver and fabricated a short boom to fit the 45* socket for lighter stuff such as hogs. The various versions served us well for 20 years.

One of my favorite memories was fishing out a lung shot nilgai which had run deep into a mesquite thicket.

The corners have already been rounded off. I was checking distance and rifle location that day. It's now been painted with a rubberized coating to quite it down if my chest pack bumps into it or I need to set my thermal binoculars down when I see one coming in. The rest of the rack was cleaned scuffed and then painted with a spray on black bed liner.

Sounds great. You should get a lot of use out of it!

Clarence, you shoulda marketed that contraption

Come pick it up and it's yours, Mike. Couple of years ago I built a new base for the chair and only used it twice. Can't use it now, but I would love to see someone get some use out of it.

Sorry to hear that you can’t use it anymore, Clarence. :( That’s a very generous offer on your part. Pretty sure Mike can’t utilize it though… At least in PA.

If you’re serious, perhaps you can do a PM fundraiser or auction of sorts? Donate the proceeds to some organization of your choice, or maybe take your wife out for dinner and a movie! ;)

Great idea, Bob. In process of breaking our 57 year old camp within next few months and the chair's gotta go. Would be great if someone can figure out a way to benefit PM or use it personally. Thanks for suggestion!

Thanks for the offer, Clarence, but not my 'cup of tea' even if it was legal here ;) . You know, you and I just might get to meet some time, our oldest grandson is moving to Texas City at the end of July. Mike

That would be great, Mike. If you come down get in touch; not sure when we'll get moved, but hoping to get it done around first of year???
