Friday night hunt

A friend and I hit a LOT of new land Friday night and only called in one young male coyote (my friend ground checked him) and two cats. It was so hot. Didn't see hardly any animals out, deer, coons, etc. I pulled in the yard around 4:00am. Turned off the truck, opened the door and rubbed the dog. Next thing I know I wake up still sitting in the truck with the door open at like 6:16am. Getting old sucks. This heat wave is horrible.

We decided to go because even though it was HOT, the humidity wasn't that bad. The thermals did well. I say we called in one young coyote, but I don't really think it was responding to the call....I just happened to see him strolling along the field and told my buddy to shoot him if he wanted to. I didn't even bother getting on my scope. The first cat came right to the call then sat on its rump a few feet from it for about 5 minutes. The other was a lot more cautious. He sat on his rump for about ten minutes, but wouldn't get any closer than 200 or so.

You arent the only one that has “woke up” in the truck🤭.
The worst case l had of it didnt relate to hunting. Came home off midnight shift. A couple hours after l should have been home Suz checks the driveway and find my feet on the rocker panel of my truck and me on my back sound asleep on the seat. This was in January. It was a real rough night in the mine.
