Full Coyote or mixed? I'll get him soon!

That is one beautiful dog, worthy of a full-bodied mount. I wish you success in getting him. I have never seen one like that one, even in photos.

That coyote unskinned would get you $400.00 or more on taxidermy.net. Then again if I shot that, it wouldn't be for sale. I would take it straight to the taxidermist for a full body mount...cost would not be a factor!

Simply beautiful!

Good luck...

Likely very true. A d I'd bet the really good taxi's would be all over him to get the chance to do the mount!

I can tell you that this is far from true. Taxidermist don't do free work for a competition piece regardless of the specimen. I'm a taxidermist, and I know a lot of other taxidermists nationwide and assure you not a single one of them does free work for comp pieces. I've got a buddy of mine mad at me because I wouldn't mount his piebald buck for free. Even though I could "use it for competition", I'd still have to pay for my supplies and tanning. Then I'd make absolutely no money. Free mounts don't pay bills...neither do taxidermy competitions. If someone does offer to mount it for free I can almost guarantee that you'll beisappointed in the mount. You get what you pay for.

Not trying to be a jerk Tony Tebbe, no offense meant. Just thought I'd point it out before he went out looking for a free mount.

Thats what i say too, must have cross bred witha collie...

It's really not that big of a dog. I do suspect that it is a male, due to the fact that our dog was in heat. I've been trying to hunt but it's been so warm here that they just don't seem very interested in getting out much. Combine that with plenty of extra deer hunting "leftovers" and very thick cover. It is tough right now for us! It does seem that it gets this way during deer season every year due to more foot traffic and food. I appreciate all the welcomes and kind words about this dog. I knew when I saw it that it was special and wanted to share it with you guys. How do you all hunt the thick stuff? I mean really thick honeysuckles, privet and briars?

I have to disagree with you. I think some taxadermist would do the work for free. It's kind of like Mossback in UT here. I am sure most of you know of or have heard of them. Anytime someone has a tag like on Antalope Island for example where your pretty much guranteed to shoot a 200" + mule deer. They have guided people for free just to have their name on every picture of that buck.

It called advertising. If you have something rare and unique like this it will draw more attention and people will no doubt ask who mounted it they did an awsome job.

Guess what you have made yourself more money by getting more business by mounting an animal for free.
