I was in Ogden a few weeks ago and stopped by Montgomery Trap & Supply. Spent about an hour talking w/ Nathan Montgomery about this years market.
He thought heavy western coyotes would sell in the $25-40 range.
Western cats as good or better than last year. (Note: Nathan said he purchased a lot of approx 200cats from a trapper in W. TX last year that averaged $90-$100)
Rats $4-$8
Midwest coons better than last year - I think you're going to want to be selective if you can. Large adult, dark pelts will sell pretty well, but smaller and lesser grade pelts might not move at all.
Per Dohzier's Sept. report he believes top western cats will market in the $500 range.
Sounds like their is a surplus of unsold greys from last season and will most likely be a pretty sorry market at least early on.
This is all speculation, of course, but everything I've read and heard in the past month is allowing me a little optimism about this year's market. These prices are for properly put up fur. I think if you're selling in the round, you're going to get raped.
