G5 Quest Rogue shooters HELP PLEASE?!?!?!

I have a cable clearance problem on a G5 Quest Rogue, looking for insight into how much clearance this model usually has?

I have never worked on one before, but a buddy bought over his brand new Rogue today for me to set up and tune it. First things first, I checked the A2A on both sides, it was balanced, checked the cam and idler lean with an arrow, spot on straight. Set the rest at centershot, 1/8" down from level arrow to start paper tuning.

Goldtip 7595's with 2" blazer's.

Noticed immediately that the fletching was making contact with the cables at rest. Under full draw, the cables pull in so far they are less than 1/8" from touching the string stop, and the cables are very visible in the sight picture through the peep.

Until I find out more, we just clocked the cockvane straight out, which solved the clearance problem (powder checked it to confirm).

It really seems like it should have more clearance? Does EVERY Quest Rogue shooter have to clock their cockvane out?

The only options I'm seeing at this point would be to create some idler and cam lean (taking it out of proper alignment) and moving the rest, OR swapping the cable guide to the other side of the guide-rod, but I'm worried that moving the cables out that far would create a lot of torque on the limbs and riser.

I'm going to run down to Cabelas later to handle a few others to see if it's just this one bow.

Anyone have a similar experience with G5 Quest Rogues?

Went into cabelas, the two Rogues they had on the shelf had really low cable clearance.

For now I just swapped out his cable guide for a shorter one and have him just clocking the cockvane out, bow shoots very nice, but it's still bothering me that it has such little clearance.

Yes and no. It's a sold carbon fiber rod, which I'm assuming is meant to be rigid. They flex a little bit, but I think it's incidental, not intentional.

I'm going to give G5 Quest a call tomorrow now, see if they're having a lot of problems like that, and if they have a recommended fix.

Called them today. As usual, they only want to talk to someone that's a licensed dealer. After I assured him that my garage shop was far more experienced than the local shops, he said that the cables should ride tight, and LOOK like they will make contact, but they won't ACTUALLY make contact.

Then I pointed out that the fletching DID make contact at rest, and we had powder tested the cables, and indeed did make contact, he reverted to "take it to a dealer and we'll fix it for you". Not really handy considering we're IN deer season. Just tell me if the thing is defective or if I just need more cam/idler lean.

Pretty much parallel at rest. The A2A on both sides is even, and the old "arrow laid against the wheel" trick shows it's straight. Of course, under draw tension, it leans a bit towards the shooter as the cable stay torques the limbs. His rest tuned perfect tears (with the cockvane turned out) spot on for the measured centershot.
