Garmin Questions

Just get you a smiley antena works just better that the telescope antena and it doesn't break. If you use the roof mount don't use a marine radio or one with a 151 freq or you will burn it up and Garmin wont replace them. I would just stick to the smiley antena.

I had a long range telescoping antenna and broke it, its too long when fully collapsed for rough terrain and rushing to get to the tree!! I also have burnt up one receiver with my marine radio, Garmin will cover it under warranty but only once, if yours is out of factory warranty its $175. I still have my truck mount but I mostly use the telescoping antenna that mounts directly to the Astro and folds down beside it when not in use....It will even fit in the case with it on there.........I've read a lil about the new 320 nothing set in stone though its supposed to have touch screen and be red in color lol if that helps any all the other stuff I've heard is stuff people are asking to be changed on it.

Garmin wont warranty them anymore if you burn them up. They only did that for a little while and they said enough is enough. The Marine band radios are not legal to use anyway( only on water)so they had a good legal base to make their decision. You fry em you buy em.
