Geissele trigger troubles

Bought a used one and first stage comes in at a perfect 2.5 lb but the trigger breaks at an additional 4 oz or so. I called and they said they would send me new trigger springs. I told him that wasn't the issue but he insisted that's what it needed. The new springs show up and I install them and it is exactly the same. I send the trigger in and they replace it with another one which is exactly the same again. I've had these Triggers on multiple different lowers and it is consistently the same. I had another one that I ordered new that had creep in it and they replaced it with one that did not. Has anyone else had problems like this with geissele. I think I'm switching to Velocity.

Shoot! They have sent you two triggers and a set of springs and still not right eh?

I have 4 of their triggers in my rifles and all work excellent. Maybe i am ham fisted though.

I have always wondered about other triggers.

My SSE two stage would be hard to beat.

I haven’t met an AR trigger 3 lbs or under that has some creep. I’ve tried Jard 2 lb, 3 timney 3 lbs, and 3 cmc 2.5lbs, all single stage. Everyone of them had a little creep. My factory POF 4.5lb broke like glass but I replaced it with a 3 lb timney because I wanted a lighter pull. Little creep with the timney but I went from dime size groups at 100 yards to cloverleaves and dime size groups at 200 yards with the same load and a lighter trigger. I do not believe the technology is perfected yet for single stage light pull AR style triggers as the bolt type triggers made.

My son bought one. Supposed to be single stage. Not quite. Terribly gritty, and it has creep. His experience with Geissele's customer service convinced me to never buy Geissele.
My stock Bushmaster National Match trigger is better.

While I do like my 3lb velocity trigger, it does have a very small amount of creep. I only notice it when shooting from the bench and never when hunting. It's my only upgraded trigger so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I went through a several brands of triggers and my first Geissele had creep. They suggested the DMR... I love that trigger. absolutely no creep. That said i think I will try a LaRue next build. The reviews are great, the price is great, But for a precision build i find it hard to believe anything can beat a properly set up DMR.

I really like the Elftmann triggers. I also have been using the Timney Calvin Elite lately and like it too. Light single stage triggers are by favorite. I got spoiled using Jewell in my bolt guns so I'm constantly trying to duplicate those.

i had terrible luck with a Geissele trigger i had an 8lb pull and the man i talked to said they couldn't do anything about it. I will never buy one again!!

I've had nothing but good triggers from Geissele. I have several and they have all been great for me. I have the SSA-E triggers and a couple of the Brownell versions the B-G2S-E. I've never had the first issue with them and really like the way they break.

Sounds like you've had one bad experience with someone there. I think I'd try to contact someone else from Geissele and see if the issue could be properly resolved. You must have caught someone having a bad day.

I own four or five G triggers. All but one are the SSA-E varieties. I had one SSA-E that had a slight amount of creep that the others didn’t have. I contacted G and they asked me to send pictures of the trigger in and out of the lower. After reviewing the pics they asked me to send the lower (PSA brand) and trigger to them. Upon inspection they called me and stated the hole in the lower for the trigger pin was slightly over sized allowing for the trigger pin to rotate causing the creep. They upgraded the trigger to a High Speed NM trigger and adjusted it to remove the creep...all at no charge to me! My one and only experience with G customer service was outstanding and I won’t hesitate to buy more G products in the future.

which geiselle is this trigger? does it have an adjustable second stage? I use a high speed match rifle trigger myself, which is capable of being the lightest trigger I am aware of. The spring typically controls the first stage pull. this can also be adjusted by bending the spring. The first stage pull isn't near as important as the second stage as you can see.

if you are shooting at things that aren't moving you want a lighter second stage. if you are shooting at things that are moving and off hand primarily you want a heavier second stage.
