i am a shorthair breeder just looking for people interested in the breed. just looking to gossip.

I will get some pics of my dogs up please share pics of your dogs as well

My brother in law has one and it's a great bird dog on the scaled quail we have over here. I really like the German Shorthair breed and I'm paticularly fond of this one. How was your quail season in Tularosa? Over here in Carlsbad it was really bad. Previous 2 years were outstanding.

the quail season was was pretty bad in the flats land do to rain (flooding) but we have alot of rolling hills and the birds were unreal..

we have scaled quail and gambels over here the dogs do thier best on the scaled they have a problem with just wanting to run. but the gambels bunch up and the dogs can point and flush them.

the one drinking is him

I have one too. We don't have TOO many birds around here. We have to travel at least 100 miles just to even get close to them. This is Gus.

You guys need them ones that forget to shave LOL. I have a couple of wirehaires, I think the Germans built some amazing dogs. I have a friend who has a little male shorthair that will hunt 4 days nonstop. Probably the prettiest point I have ever seen

A topic I can relate to! I hunt a fair amount of birds here in MI. Here's Harley, my 7 yr old short hair. He's out of Abbe Lane Kennels in Kalamazoo, MI. Good dog. Finds birds with the best of 'em.

You need to put those dogs on some pheasants if you want to see some running. I have a GSP and 2 labs. Our bird hunting is all done her now and the last month was horrible with 12 - 18 inches of snow and ice. Probably took a real toll on the birds. I live in the country and have CRP grass right here and am still seeing quite a few pheasants but no quail.
