I know you're asking about varget. I've had very good groupings with 24gr of 3031, 55gr Sierra 1390 and winchester primers. Also 22.7grn of X-term with same components.
i've had great results with with varget and H4895. As i understand 4895 is a little faster burning powder and may not be well suited for the .270. I want to try 4350 next for the .270 and a lot of people have had great success with that powder for .243.
I have had great luck with benchmark in the 223. I would look at different powders for your cals. Your going to end up with different powders any way so find the best for each you are going to load and the best that works in your rifle then buy a 8lb jug of it and keep the other for test powders when you get a different gun or work up a load for a friends. I was just got back into it 2 weeks ago started from scratch. I was only going to run a few different powders well in two weeks im up to 14lbs of powder all one pound jugs. and 10 lbs of it are all different powders. If your going to do it might as well do it right. It will save you a lot of headaches along the way. what works in say the 223 might shoot really bad in the 243 or 270.
