Ghillie - Is Rancho Safari back up and running

jimanaz,

Your right it is more of a hassle to take it off and put it on but for me I have just gotten used to rolling it up everytime. I hunt with guys who leave it on all day and it seems it takes more time to get untangled from the fences than to put it on when I get to the stand. I have it down to where I can roll it up or put it on in under 15 seconds and at least for me it is much more convenient than leaving it on and getting hung up on the way to the stand. I hunted in Alberta, Canada last Dec. and I did leave the Shaggie on more because it was so wide open there and felt less exposed while moving out to a stand, but I did take it off when I went back to the truck after a stand.
It's like anything else once you get a system down that works you figure out a way to make it as easy as possible and for me it was taking it off and on.

As promised, here are a couple of pictures of the Jerryflage gillie "in the field". This first one was taken from about 20 yds. to give you a coyotes eye view.

This one is taken from abot 5 yds. so you can see me. I'm sitting on a stool and as you can see, there are no arms, no legs, and no head. When you have to twist to get a shot, they look at you, but just do not recognize the form as a danger.

Good to hear that they will be back in the saddle... I will need to get one for the young ones. I had the wife convinced and everything. I've not used any other suits (leafywear, etc...) but I can tell you that these rock!!! Mine has a new home in the backseat of my S10 that I just got and will hopefully find some blood this week.

When I visited Rancho's website tonight, after reading all the posts and getting more interested in another piece of absolutely necessary hunting items (next Christmas is just around the corner), I found no mention of the Jerry Flauge. Is there another name for it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nope. Just call them and tell them what you want and that you want it in Jerry Flauge. Jerry will know what you are talking about.

Thanks, Crapshoot. Is it close in coloration to realtree advantage or mossy oak? Here in middle Tennessee those patterns work well year 'round; although, I prefer the advantage. Are they taking calls now (sorry to hear about the fire losses).

I have had mine for several years now and think it is the best thing going especially for open country. I have sit on top of little hills (not a tree within 2 miles of you)and had yotes walk right up to me. You can see them coming for a long ways off.

Their manufacturing was apparently damaged or shut down after the California wildfires last summer, and I was wondering if they are back in production and shipping ghillies yet? I bought one at the Pacific Northwest Sportsman Show in Portland at the first of February, and haven't received it yet.
