Ghost camo

Has anyone used the Parrie ghost camo in the west desert? They are out of Montana and sold on camodump.com. Any useful info appreciated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I've used Ghost camo in both patterns (prairie and snow) in the plains and foothills here. You just disappear.

I haven't found a better camo for stalking antelope.

I've had mine for about 8 years.

I haven't really seen another pattern that works on the sage hills either. Prairie Ghost might be too light colored for spring/summer hunting though.

It's gonna be tough to find much selection of the ghost products. I used to sell them, but Montana Camo who supplied product are out of business since 2007. There may be still be stock around someplaces but not much choice.

I use the Snow ghost and was very happy with the products. It was disappointing to see them shut down.

I also see that they are suing Cabala's for trademark infringement. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I'm a little confused now, so maybe someone can clairfy.

A little over a year ago, I purchsed some camo that says "Prairie Ghost" on it, but it looks like snow camo; at least that's what I got it for. I'm referring to the parka in the photo. I did get matching bibs for it, got them from Sportsman's Guide.

I was under the impression that Prairie Ghost camo is a different color, but this is white and what I would think is more of a Snow Ghost pattern.

So now my question is, what is the difference between Prairie Ghost and Snow Ghost?

I think when they started it was "Prairie Ghost" made by Montana camo. Then they add3ed other patterns including the one you have "Snow Camo." The pattern is the same, but the background color is different. Prairie is a brown and of course yours is white.

I own Ghost camo, bought it when it first came out around 1990 if I remember. I used it for Antelope hunting in Wyoming. It blended in perfect but sticks out like a sore thumb back home. My new favorte is Max1. I can use it in my treestand here in the midwest and I out in the AZ desert. To me its about as perfect gets. No dark colors to make out stick. I use to be a Natural gear fan untill this stuff came out.

The closest you will get to prairie ghost camo is Seclusion 3D Open Country at cabelas. And yes it works out west. last coyote I got was 15 paces and approaching when I shot it.

6mm06 I have that same snow camo, works great.

t/c223encore,

I too have used the Cabela's Open Country camo - in Namibia when we hunted springbuck and warthog. It is really good camo, in my opinion. I've never used it out west, but I've been to Wyoming a few times before I purchased it and I imagine it would work great there.
