Sad news. Shame he passed away so young. He was always one of my favorites, even after the Eagles. Fantastic guitarist, too.

Rest easy Glenn. Here's one of my favorites ......

How true, Slim. I have a hard time calling most of the new stuff anything but irritating noise.

I made my living playing music for 15 or so years in the 70s era, and it is amazing that 70s-80s rock is eerily similar to what they now call "modern country".

Maybe the circle is starting to close and folks are starting to relize that "those truly were the best of times".

The Eagles have long been my favorite group. Their Farewell concert from Australia is great quality both as to content and quality. Glenn Frey was an important part of their group. RIP.

Owned every LP, thru Hotel California. (although HC was the only "new release" that I bought)

The Long Run LP came out my Freshman year. Bought it on cassette.
During that year, Driver's Ed was an actual class taught in our school.
Our little class of 23, were divided into groups of 4, with each group taking turns driving.
Just so happened that my group was the first that got to drive...and our teacher was a very cool guy.
The car we got to use, was a '79 Monte Carlo...V8; automatic; all the bells and whistles, which included a AM/FM/auto-reverse cassette player.
Teacher was nice enough to let me bring along my tape of The Long Run, whenever my group drove.
Talk about a fun time!

I only saw them play once, in 1979. they had something like 28 guitars on that stage & by the end of the show they had played them all.
