Globe Hunt - Will mossy oak breakup camo be alright?

I'm from KY and registered for the Globe Hunt. I have mossy oak breakup camo. Will that blend in okay out there?

As long as you stay away from blue, you are ok.

Less focus on camo, more focus on playing the wind and your movement. Alot of mammals, deer and dogs in particular, are blind to alot of colors to begin with. Their site is geared more for movement. Most colors show up brown to them anyway, even blazer orange. One of the only color that dogs see well is blue.

Also, if you use a decoy, you can get their attention off of you even more.

WOW, sorry to change the subject but MAUMAU is that a Hyena as your avatar? Please share a larger picture and story with us.

It is in fact a 150lb Hyena that I was very fortunate to secure this past September in Northern Zimbabwe. He was one of three taken, and they are currently in the process of being full mounted.
The plan is to have them fighting with a previously full mounted male Lion over an Impala. They are arch enemys and often fight, sometimes to the death.

Hyenas mark their territory with a 'paste' that is secreted from their anal gland. This paste, even in small amounts, has a terrible smell. After the shot, when a Hyena urinates, defacates and ejects all of its 'paste', the smell is horrific. They should bottle the stuff.

Maumau, that is awsome. I have always wanted to hunt a Hyena. What methods do they use to hunt them? Is it common to call them in?

I think I just threw up in my mouth. I don't think I've heard such a descriptive explaination of it before. haha

The methods vary according to the area and country. This particular area, which is a national park, is called Chewore North is about one million acres. Any type of call, whether hand or electronic are strictly prohibited, and hunting is only allowed from 1/2 an hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset.
The best time to hunt them is before the sun rises and baiting them is the prefered method. In my case, we used a Lot of bait! Within six days, this Elephant was totaly gone.
