Glock 19: The Shepherd

In memory of my mother.

Several years back my mother and stepfather bought me my first handgun. It is a law enforcement surplus Glock 19.

After her passing I knew that I'd most likely never part with the gun. So I thought about something special and memorable to do with it to make it unique for my future generations.

May I present to you "The Shepherd".

Sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Like the other guys said, very unique G19. I appreciate the sentiment behind the work. I also appreciate the G19, it's a very handy and useful defensive handgun.

Thanks, it is nice! I absolutely love the G19. It shoots like a dream, you can afford to shoot it, and now with the proper holster, it's so comfortable to carry. I have absolutely no complaints, especially when I'm knocking down sub MOA groups at 7 yards and 6" groups at 15 yards.

Nice. Sorry for your loss, man. Looks like from your experiences with them, you've gained good thought processes.....humankinds best advantage in life.

Sorry for your loss & really neat pistol now, but...

just so you know 1MOA, one minute of angle, at 7 yards is less than 8/100's of an inch (< 0.073" to be more specific)...

Not trying to be a smart tail, please take no offense. Just trying to solve a little possible confusion for the newbs.

I appreciate that. I always thought MOA was just 1". So Mr. Technical, I am shooting SUB 1" groups at 7 yards. LOL

Slick, I think that you're right.

Although, I just got a text from the manager at the gun shop that I work part time at. He told me that there's a match shooter who has a Wilson Combat stainless barrel with less than 200 rounds through it for $130. I think that barrel might have just been made for my 19. And from what I've read, I just might end up shooting SUB MOA groups out to 25 yards with that thing.

Well. A less than a 1/4 inch group at 25 yards from a handgun would be pretty impressive.

1 moa is 1.047 inches at 100 yards, most folks who arent dealing with artillery type ranges just use 1" and say moa. Moa is actually an angle measurement and is linear in relation to distance in 100 yard increments. So 200 yards, 2" 300 yards 3" 400 yards, 4" grouping etc all the way to infinity. Going backwards

At 75 yards, 3/4 inch.

At 50 yards, 1/2 inch.

At 25 yards 1/4" is 1 moa. Basically you have a 1 hole group with a 9mm. You pretty much can't tell how many bullets have passed through that hole.

6" at 15 yards, you're shooting roughly 40-45ish moa without doing the actual math. Im on 2 hours sleep and dont feel like doing it

Which is an absolutely fine number for a pistol being shot by hand.

I carried glock on duty and off for my past career and put a few bajillion rounds downrange. I carried an expert rating for much of that time. I was never a precision pistol shooter but highly combat effective. I could be out of the holster and have shots in the 10 ring faster than just about anyone on the line. To get a 1 hole group at 25 i would have to put 1 on paper, 12 in the hillside and then lie
