Great guns, a little fat in the hand but I have smaller hands. We have a 20 for sale at shop I work at. I think they still have a sf, ill have to check. They are pretty big either way

I love my 10mm. I looked at the Glocks but I went with the EAA Witness. It fits my hand a lot better. And it is one [beeep] of a shooter. And its on a 1911 frame.

The EAA Witness dose NOT use a 1911 frame. It is basically a modified CZ 75.

You should go somewhere that you can handle both guns at the same time to determine witch fits your hand better. I have never held a SF, but my standard 20 fits me just fine.

I have a G20 SF. I got it in Feb. so I am still getting it
qualified ammo and reliability wise. I like mine A LOT!
I went with the Glock, and I was a previous Glock "Hater".
Big fan of 1911s, and XDs, but Glock, not so much. The
reason I went with the Glock, over the EAA, and others, was
there were nagging complaints on some(quality and customer
service), out of production, or sporadic production on others,
and Glock had very few complaints and great customer service.
So I took the plunge into the Glock side.

I could not be happier. This G20 SF has NEVER choked on
any of my hand loaded ammo, from light target to max. pressure
self defense loads. The SF version fits well in my hand, and
my hands are pretty average for a guy around 5' 10". These
things are very simple to work on, and keep clean. I did
buy a KKM Precision 6" 10mm barrel for it, to meet some
state requirements for a hunting pistol, and that barrel
has been 100% reliable, too. I haven't really rung it out
yet for accuracy, but the few groups I have shot look
promising. I purchased mine for large predator defense while
upland game hunting. We have wolves, and I will be damned if
they will kill my dog when I am hunting. I usually hunt with
small bore shotguns, and one of them is a 28 ga. O/U...Not
great medicine for attacking wolves. 16 rounds of 10mm Auto
with 180 gr. HPs doing 1300 to 1400 fps ought to level the
playing field.

Oh, one other word of warning. Glocks can be as addicting
as Black Rifles. Since the G20 SF, I have purchased a
Glock 27(subcompact in 40 S&W), and I have a Glock 30
SF(compact in 45 ACP) on order, due in mid to late April.
Still love my 1911s, and my XDs, but these butt ugly Glocks
have gotten their hooks in me.

They are simple and they work. Ive put my glocks thru shooting packeages that owuld brreal most other guns, they always do well. The newer version M&P seems to be a good pistol, not sure they have a10mm model [beeep].

Quote:Glocks can be as addicting as Black Rifles. So true.... When I was shooting a lot of GSSF Matches (9 per year), I owned seven of them....two of which were the G-20 and G-29...

Still love the 10mm, but have cut down to owning just three now..Considering the cost of Factory Ammo to feed them, plan on reloading for it..

Check out what you can do with that Glock 20. This video made my mind up and now all I have to do is wait for my birthday...

Shows the true accuracy of a 20 and I'm going to work up the 230 gr loads for my self defense.

OT why don't you show him a picture of you 10mm and let him drool a little bit.

I've loaded some 200gr copper jacketed HPs for my 10mm that are moving at an average of 1054 fps...I started getting some pressure signs after that and backed off..

I know that Tom McNett at DoubleTap has done a lot of load development and wouldn't hesitate to use his stuff in most of mine..

Unfortunately, I've sold off all of my Glocks with the exception of my old five digit ser # (1986) G-17...and deleted the photos out of PhotoBucket..You'll just have to drool over these..

I still have my Kimber 10mm:

My ParaOrdnance P16/40 (reamed out to 10mm), with the high cap mags and extenders, each holds 18 rounds:

and my old Auto Ordnance 10mm:

I found basically the same thing that the video demonstrated, Glock accuracy with heavier bullets really needs an after market barrel...

Just for fun, I copied "Dirty Harry" in the Magnum Force movie and loaded some really light (for 10mm) 135gr HPs at super high speeds and the results in a test ham hung for a target was devastating...Not the penetration you would want from a heavier hunting bullet, but a fantastic 'splash' effect in meat tissue..The kinetic energy transfer is awesome....

Thanks for posting the video link. Ol'Hickock does a bunch of
stuff with pistols, and is very fond of Glocks. This did open
my eyes up to hard cast bullets. For my self defense, and
wolf defense, the 180 gr. XTP loads will do well. But if I
carry in bear country, I am going to have to get some hard
cast lead bullets, and launch them out of my KKM barrel.

I purchased mine new the first week of February, 2011. Sad
thing before the end of March, I have 4 mags, 2 holsters,
a new 3.5 connector for the trigger, a new KKM Precision
barrel, and a pile of custom built ammo for it...Like I
said in an earlier post, watch it these things can be addicting.

I worked on my Glock 20 as well and use it for back up for hunting wild pigs.
Here's the stippling I did.
