glock grip reduction

Anybody ever had a grip reduction done on a glock pistol.I've got a 23 and a 27,the 23 is ok but the 27 is going to have to have something,i just cant get used to it.I tried one of the slip on hogue sleeves but it didnt help with feel.Just seems to fat and ive got pretty big hands.Either going to try this or trade it for a m & p compact. They feel a lot better, but i hate to because magazines will work out of 23 in 27.I've been reading about reductions on internet but dont know which companys are reputable or which do better work.

I can't anwser your question outright, but I can tell you I've owned Glocks in the past and have hated the feel of each and every one of them. They are a very fine shootin weapon and are accurate as heck. But the feel in my hand, which is small, is like nothing I've ever felt before or want to feel again. Because of their unquestionable reliability, I put up with that hard to describe, uncomfotable feeling and the three models I had all shot well at the range. But none felt anywhere as comfortable as my Beretta 94 or even any of the S & W models I still own in varying calibers. One of my sons rants about the Glocks and he's now the proud owner of all three. I guess either you like 'em or you hate 'em. To be honest, I don't even know if Pacmyer makes grips for Glocks, but you might check and see. Good luck in your search for comfort.

If you have a Dremel tool, you can do your own... There are a couple of companies that do them, but charge, what to me, is an outrageous price for the work.

There is only one or two places where you have to be really careful on the amount you remove...

Except for my model 20, I have never felt the need to take one down, so I'm not speaking from experience... Check out "GlockTalk.com", as I think there used to be a discussion on there about the subject and with instructions..

That pistol got ruined... they can't even make it look good in the photos!

And that "custom beaver tail" makes the pistol look like it got left laying on the kerosene heater...

Just sell the Glock if you are not happy with the feel of it. There are other pistols with better ergonomics out there... but none so durable and reliable as the Glock. Pretty is as pretty does, and function dictates form.

...realize that the 27 is no fatter than the 23; they're both the same as far as girth in the grip. The 27 is simply shorter. If the 23 isn't too big around, the 27 shouldn't be either...

...the Pierce grip adapter (replaces the magazine floor plate) works to improve the feel of the pistol. You might consider one of those.

Ive seen it done correctly. Worth it if you are a glock fan with small hands. I think Robar did the one i picked up.

Dan, I think the problems is the finger grooves. The 27 is pretty new and has grooves on front of grip for your fingers to go in and the 23 I've had probably 7 or 8 yrs and it is smooth on the front.I bought the 27 after I got my conceal carry permit and thought the 23 grip stuck out to far.The 27 does hide alot easier but doesnt feel good to me.If I put the pierce adapter on i may as well carry the 23 because it almost as long. Thanks for the info,I guess i'll just have to shoot it alot more and try to get use to it or trade it for something else.I really like the feel of the smith and wesson m & p's but i know when i pull the trigger on a glock it will go boom.Dont know about all these new pistols.
