I carried a Glock for over 20 years before that a smith model 65 and only had only one malfunction the whole time a broken trigger spring was probably my fault that I didn't change it out sooner sprongs can only sprong for so long... O did I say I am retired and still carry Glock a model 27 but most recently I added other carry guns the ruger LCP AND SR1911.... in a nutshell I been a Police firearms instructor and Glock armorer over 20 years as well and would have to say that Glock is IMO the best weapon for police work just pure reliability bar none.....

I would disagree that they are THE best, although they are excellent pistols. I would counter that S&W M&Ps are AT LEAST as good as glocks.

And I like Chevys and I will tell a Ford man that the Chevy is AT LEAST as good or better than the Ford.

Its not based on only personal preferences and experiance, but also independant product testing, actual construction of the pistols, and the huge amount of Law Enforcement agencies switching to the M&P platform

I wouldn't trust much of what govt agencies do. It does not have to function% 100 in order for them to switch, cost is a factor when they look at things as most dept. are underfunded. I am sure s&w gives a great discount. I have held and shot both and if you have small hands the s&w will feel better but I like the way a glock 21 fills the hand.

The s&w does look a little nicer, I just think they need to stick with wheel guns. I can honestly say through 1000s of rounds I have not had any ftf or fte in any glock and that counts for more than anything in a defensive pistol in my book.

Fin you are allowed to disagree.... this is my opinion lol lol which we all have lol lol.... Smith is dumping lots of money out there to get PD's to Switch to their weapon much like Glock did many many years ago... I think Glock still has most of the market covered though....

I have actually seen and function tested and shot a Glock 23 that was tossed out of a sun roof at 70 MPH... it had minor road rash (that a little sandpaper took care of) but still held zero and functioned without fail......
