Go to coyote call

What is your guys go to coyote call? I struggle with trying to figure out what kind of call to start out with when I set up to doing some calling. Also what coyote howl call seems to be the most user friendly I have an open reed one now but I just can not seem to get it to sound right. Thanks for any advice.
 
My "brown sugar" is my go to dist call, although the death cry is gaining ground.

For howler I use a red desert till I can by a custom howler.
 
Wayne Carlton "Fightn' Cow Call" is my favorite open reed predator call.

It is a lot like a Crit R' Call with a different reed. For a howler, Knight & Hale's Heckln' Howler is a closed reed howler that I really like. I didn't think I would ever use a closed reed howler, but this one has changed my mind. Very Very Easy to use!!!
 
TC Double Slash Diaphragm is the one I've been using the most this year. Every time I get a new cut from Torry it becomes my new favorite though.
 
It used to be an open reed from Pale Otter, but that has been replaced with an open reed from Workman Predator Calls.

Here's a question for you. Is it a go to call because it actually works better, or just because we have more confidence in it?

Whenever I get good enough to call a coyote in, I will weigh in to this post!! Until then, I'll keep throwing everything at them but the kitchen sink.......It's just too heavy!!

grandpa gave me that one ( he's 93) it has been the best howler I have ever touched and for the disstress it a toss up between CriteR call and Tally ho.
 
Ruffy Dawg is my go to distress in the open sandhills, Ruffy Dawg JR when I don't need the volume as much. Hot dog for a howler. This might all change now with the purchase of a new foxpro!
 
tally ho and hydel gh cottontail and circie's mvp-4 as far as production calls.someday i'll get some production calls from the makers on this site.
customs its a tj shocklers open reed and karvers closed reed.
i love arky's sounds too
no way i could pick out just one call as i have over 200 to choose from and growing lol.
boarderdog, its because i have confidence in them been useing them longer so i've killed more with them. never even knew about customs back then.

Thanks, I haven't looked in there in a while. It costs me money every time I do. Seems like he wasn't around here much for a couple of years.

Since you didn't specify hand call, I gotta go with DSG Cottontail out of a Foxpro Fury as my go to call. As for hand calls, I like the Lil Dog set from Primos. Green mouthpiece for distress and white mouthpiece with the horn attached for howls.
