Redneckspride, I highly recommend Cook's Custom Predator diapragms. He's a good guy and does excellent work. I use his diapragms on every hunt. I have several howlers and quite a few distress calls from him. He is on PM as cookstaxi.

Did you mean that certain diaphrams can make specific predator sounds. I did not know that. I figured that a double reed turkey call can squeal too. I have a cople of his diaphrams too. Practice make perfect on the howls and barks.

Yeah, I have some distress diaphragms he made. Don't know what name he has for them. I told him what I wanted and he made some for me. Very different from howlers and turkey calls.

May have to look in to that. Could be useful if a person is wanting to call light and try and get a few stands in if your pressed for time.

ardave thank you But I make my own, I have been making turkey calls for a while so making them is no problem.
John007 although any diaphagms work great, yes they are different. Mainly on your turkey type the reeds are laid to give you the 2 note calls even yelpers are a 2 note. on the pred depending on who is making them the reeds are laid to give those one note sounds except for the distress calls of pups to get the bird sounds the reeds are laid out a little differently and made to work in conjunction with the lips and tongue. now with that being said a good mouth caller can do wonders with any dia on turkey or preds.

A good howler worked into a tube can really reach out and if the person can work the air flow along with the tongue get some nice quivers. if the reed s are laid out right the transition can flow between notes and pressures very freely with out the stop start that some call may give.
