I'm gonna be getting my Henry lever action 22 WMR out of layaway in the next couple weeks. What scope are ya'll putting on them? Obviously, I don't need anything that will reach out to 300 yards but don't want a fixed power scope. Gonna be using it for yotes, cats, and fox. Will be doing some night hunting with it as well. Thanks for any input.

I have a Nikon 3x9 BDC rimfire on my 22 mag and it works for me. I have shot p. dogs at 100 yds and coons at twenty with no issues.

I buy glass for life. Therefore:

Vortex or Nikon only. Max magnification is 24 for me. To much mirage after that and low light starts suffering after that. IMO

redfield 2-7 on my marlin....

Depending on your price range I'd say you might want to consider something with an illuminated dot if you are going to night hunt alot. Don't need to use it but it is nice. Lots of guys say the Mueller scopes are good predator hunting scopes for the money. I have a Luupold VX-III Illuminated dot scope I am selling for $400 if you are interested.

Or even better, find a vintage steel tube one and you have a real "classic"!

thanks for all the suggestions guys...still got a couple weeks to make up my mind. i want to get some see thru mounts to go on this gun. i know they have to be the "slide on" kind but i cant remember what they're called? also, my local sportsman's warehouse doesn't have them...who would? bps? i want the kind that i can actually see thru enough to use my iron sights if needed. thanks

Weaver RV9 3-9x32...I was looking at the Leupold and the Weaver and after doing a side by side comparison, there was no reason for me to pay extra for the Leupold. I have mine on a CZ 455 22mag..great scope.

Huntsman,

Lovethe look of the redfield, how does it focus say at 20 to 30 yards for close woods squirrel shots?

Leupold 2-7 is what's on my CZ
Redfield 2-7 is on my savage.

I like both equally well. The Leupold has better clarity but not by much, for the price, I can live with the Redfield

I like Leupold 3-9x40, Weaver 2-7 or 3-9x38. My current 22mag has a Burris LRS 3-9x40 on it for night hunting. Get a reticle that shows up well. Doesn't have to be illuminated, just not thin.......

I am using a Bushnell Trophy 3X9 on my BRUNO ZKM 611 auto 22mag. This has served me well for over 10 years. I am using a Nikon Prostaff 3X9 on my Cz52 22mag. I have used it about 5 years with good success .

If you are using it for night hunting you might look at the new Vortex Crossfire II. I just got one and even though I haven't had time to mount it I did check the illuminated reticle. It's a single dot in the middle of the crosshairs and goes down to very low settings. It should be fine for night use.

It's the 3-9x40 model with the V-Brite reticle. I got a good deal at JoeBobs with the PM discount.
