Minox...

I am a recent convert. got one, loved it, got a second immediatly..
However I did get open box/demos so saved a lot of cash.
one of them will be replacing a Nikon Monarch on a more "serious" coyote rifle, if that means anything to you.

I just purchased a vortex viper 6.5-24-50 for my predator gun. Couldnt be happier with it. The major selling point for me was the warranty and the glass. I was really considering the nikon monarch but ended up with the vortex because of the no hassle replacement if anything happens to my scope.

I will second the Minox.Almost the same experience, including buying demos. My 4x20 for $500 might be one of my best buys in optics.

No, I'm set with the Leupold. I really wanted to try a Zeiss but couldn't find one when they had a sale. I don't like their marketing techniques.

My next scope is going to be a NF.

Shoes:

I came back to see where this thread went....I remember when one could not touch a Zeiss scope for less than $700.00; when Zeiss entered the USA market and said they would sell an affordable scope with quality I thought, we'll see.

Zeiss has DONE IT. Their scopes and glass are second to none, and although I own all Leupolds, I would love to own a Zeiss if I needed another scope. This is not a "good scope" for under $500, it is a great scope for under $800!

"Younger" people (talking to Joed) here need to live a while to know a sea change when it happens....

I tried to buy a Zeiss back in January. They had one heck of a sale on the Conquest. Only one problem I could see with the sale, there were no scopes to be had. I looked on the second day of the sale and got nothing but out of stock.

The Conquest 3-9x40s are nice, and priced accordingly.

That said, I've owned a couple other Conquests also. Higher powered with target turrets. Once you get into this class of scope, prices go up dramatically. Nothing to write home about IMO. Target turrets are nowhere near as good as Leupold's, and they spin backwards of every other scope I own. Glass on my last Conquest was not as good as the Leupy or Vortex I compared it to. Although, in fairness, the first Conquest I owned had excellent glass. Turrets sucked a$$ though........
