Anyone know of one made in the USA, my old stanley got lost/misplaced and the new ones are made in china.. I can't stand it, Yesterday I went to look at a new one, when I picked it up if felt light and cheap .. looked on the bottom .. sure enough CHINA. I sent them an email asking if they had any old stock held back for replacements .. the answer was no... So now I am stuck, already scanning ebay, I will get one there without too much trouble but I would still like to get a new one.

I have an old Thermos - 4/6 cup- still in the alum lunch box!! I think my Grandfather used it until he retired in 1975!!
dont ask - wont sell- my kids would kill me.

I have an old Aladin stainless steel thermos which I have had for 22 years, it still keeps coffee hot all day. You might check to see if Aladin still makes a stainless, or Coleman.

You should be careful knocking 'made in china' stuff. A lot of those china companies are owned by Americans. Plenty of American pensions are able to pay those pensions because they own stock in chinese companies. And a lot of other foreign companies.

All I know is I want a thermos bottle that works like my old one .. As for americans owning and depending on china.. I will file that under dancing with the devil.. Another way to look at is a lot of us won't have pensions to worry about thanks to jobs being lost everyday .. don't wanna talk politics .. just want a thermos bottle

I am sick of all the "made in (fill in the blank)" crap that is lining the shelves of our stores.

And what really yanks my chain is the American Flags sold at Wally World that are made in China. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif

With you guys all the way. China will bite us hard someday and I refuse to buy stuff made there as much as I possibly can. Really grates me that all this computer stuff is made over there. You look at my hunting gear and you will find that all of it is made in the USA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif BTW, if anyone thinks that the $$$ we spend on Chinese goods benefits us, may I suggest you read the documentation in a book "The Coming Conflict with China". All we are doing is building their military, check it out.

Made in China by American companies. You want to bad mouth China but the AMERICAN companies went to them not the other way around. Is everyone so prejudice we need to worry about whether or not it is American made. All that title means is higer prices any more. Do you think those american companies really care about you. All they want is your money. American made does not mean better quality!! America makes its fair share of junk.

Thanks I will look into the Nissan model when I can find one. I have seen them online and can't find out where they are made. I try to buy American when I can didn't know it was so unpopular. The Stanley/Aladdin thermos bottle has been around a long time, I just can't see spending my money to support a company that is American in name only. I don't have to tell you guys what happens when a whole company leaves .. Its more than just jobs that are lost, a whole communitity suffers. It might be unpopular these days ot knock these companies that not only abandoned their employees but their country for larger profit margins. I still dont' feel that I did, I just posted that I wanted a thermos bottle not made in china.. Why do I feel that way..
Well stanley was around for 90 years making this bottle since the 50s My bottle was of strong quality and kept things hot for 2 days now these are the reviews I find. In 2002 they went to china

I was wondering if there is any similar products that work, everyone on here says they dont work well since they are made in china. Maybe we all need to find a replacement company.

Heartbreak is right. One of my fondest child hood memories is that big green Stanley thermos that my grand dad carried to the job site and he had it til the day he died and when I finally buy one of my own its MADE IN CHINA!!! What a sad shock.

6. RE: The Stanley Thermos Is 90 Years Old
I preheat my new, smaller sized Stanley with hot water and, still, it won't keep coffee hot for three hours. What a heartbreak. The problem: "Made in China" stamped on the bottom. All my previous, made in USA Stanley's have worked flawlessly. I'm looking in flea markets for an old one.

5. RE: The Stanley Thermos Is 90 Years Old
I have brought my husband two of the 2.0 thermos and they both won't keep coffee hot.I also would like info about the life time guarantee.

4. RE: The Stanley Thermos Is 90 Years Old
I have used Stanley Thermos for many years but the last two that I sent back to the company lasted only about a year. It is really dissapointing when you are out hunting in the cold and carrying a thermos and find out that after a hour the drink is cold. What could I do????

3. RE: The Stanley Thermos Is 90 Years Old
My first Stanley lasted over 20 years. Replaced it with a wide-mouth green thermos. The handle came off and the top leaks. Quality is inferior to earlier Stanley thermos.

2. RE: The Stanley Thermos Is 90 Years Old
I also have a 1 qt. classic green Stanley Aladdin bottle and would like to know where to send it.

1. RE: The Stanley Thermos Is 90 Years Old
I own a 1 qt classic green Stanley Aladdin vacuum bottle. It keeps hot coffee hot for about one half hour (about the same time as a regular china cup). I have been unable to find out how to take advantage of the "life time guarantee" for which this product is famous. Can you advise?

A testimony to their quality

Pacific Market International, LLC is recalling about 45,000 Stanley thermos bottles. The handle on the thermos bottles can break, causing the vacuum seal to fail and release organic, non-toxic charcoal powder insulation into the air.
