Actually not much of a drinker, but I've popped enough corks & pulled enough tap handles in the past to know what "good beer" is.

Having to taste & know about 70 different tap beers & 100+ bottled Belgians sure had its privileges!!! Not to mention all the other "beer geek" discoveries along the way.

Life is too short to drink crap beer...
 
come on guys im sitting here in my dorm eating cashews and i start reading about drinking beer and all i have is soda. god beer and cashews sound good right now,,

ok..the wife really shouldn't send me grocery shopping alone..so i picked up some..sierra nevada pale ale..i just enjoyed my 1st one..i'd give it a /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

It would most likely taste something like Meister Brau, or possibly one of the newest diet "beers" on the market.

Just guessin' though...

On a side note, a trip has been arranged to the local watering hole this evening with a bud and YOU ALL are to blame!

I drink a lot of IPAs. Too many are a good way to get a headache. I also drink GI Honkers Ale a lot. May even go with that tonight.....
 
It had been a while so I had some catching up to do! You are right, those 5%+ abv IPAs can put a hurtin' if you ain't respectful!

Stretched over 5 hours with a meal & glass of water between pints softened the effect a good bit...

It is not only the high alcohol content that IPA's have, it is the amount of hops. Try a Bell's "Hopslam" Double IPA sometime. You can get a headache long before you start feeling drunk. The amount of hops in it is incredible. That is why it is $15/ 6 pack. It is nearly impossible to "pound" one, not that you would want to....
