Goose hunting in AZ?

Do any of you folks hunt geese in AZ? Although I've hunted here since 1986, never been after geese (or ducks). I've read that around the Kofa WLR there are geese, but never met anyone that has hunted the big birds in AZ, seems like they all go to TX, LA, MO AR, MN etc.

Growing and hunting for 20 years in Arizona, you have the Cibola wildlife refuge which borders Californai and Arizona. About 18,000 honkers winter. Field hunting where you must draw for a spot early in the morning.

I took a few geese driving along the gila river down by Yuma. Take yourself a good pair of bionoculars, waders and get ready to do some stalking.

Good luck.

Had not thought about the Gila river...that sounds promising, rather than hoping to get a pass for the day at the Refuge.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The Gila out on the west side near Buckeye / Arlington holds geese and cranes. PM me for some specifics.

Also up North near flag saw lots of waterfowl this weekend.
