Got a bull elk pics on different post

I am 14 and went elk hunting this weekend. Its was on a preserve but was a hard hunt. My friend won a hunt in a raffle adn wanted me to do it. We bowhunted in the morning ansd didnt see one. That afternoon i got my 06 and waited on a ridge for the guid to do a drive in some really thick cover where he thought the bhull might be. two bulls came out and the 7 by 6 came to about70 yards and was broadside. i shot onc and he jumped and ran about 40 feet and stopped i shot him again and he didnt go down so i shot one more time and he finnaly went down. When he fell he broke the tip off the second point on the right side but we found it and will have it fixed. when we cleaned him out there was a hole in the lung bigger than a softball. The bull was estimated to be 1200 pounds. I will have pictures as soon as we get them developed.
 
It doesn't matter to me that you got him on a farm. Congratulations! Those elk can pack a lot of lead. They say keep shooting as long as they are on their feet. My first elk hit the ground at the first shot and I still put another on in his neck as soon as I chambered another round. Looking forward to the photos.
 
Ahh, to heck with it. You had a good time, made a clean kill, and put some tasty meat in the freezer. Some may disagree with your choice of hunting locale - that's their prerogative. I can only imagine that it lit your inner fire as a hunter and, when your financial status will allow, you'll be chasing them in their native habitat. I'm just happy to see 14-year olds out hunting. Good on you pal! Let's see those pictures.
 
I'm just waiting for the pics! Sounds like you had a good time. You got your first elk while hunting with a buddy, hell I'm 36 and never had a chance at a bull yet. Thanks for the story and can't wait to see the smile on your face in the pics, that should tell us if you are hooked or not!

I agree...we need pics....and congrats to you...don't matter what property you got one on, they are still tough to get.
 
well it is hard because i had to shoot a certain bull and there were only 4 in there and when the guide found the bullit was laying in thick pines where you couldnt see 10 feet AND O YEAH DID I MENTION I WON THE HUNT
