Got the Taxidermy done on my Coyote

Not sure if any of you remeber, but last Nov I posted a story about "when nature calls" about stalking a yipping coyote across from our house while in my work clothes and with a couple of dogs in tow.
Well, the first shot took out the yotes backbone, good it didn't go anywhere, bad because it left a huge hole the furbuyer would frown on. However, it was a real pretty yote, furred up well, with a nice color, so it went into the taxidermy freezer.
And here are the results, I'm was real pleased with how she turned out.

When my husband said "that thing gives me the creeps" I took it as a complement on a job well done! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Also, my grandad took a real liking to it. I believe his exact words were "I like your coyote, mostly just because its dead." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I dont think I have ever seen a shoulder mount on a coyote, its usually the whole body. I really like the way it looks! What a great mount!

Huntingal, WOW that is cool. Did you do all the work yourself? If you did how much do you get for a mount like that? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Thanks for the complents guys, I think the "field research" (hunting) I do pays off when it comes to bringing a mount to life. Nothing like seeing the real thing up close and personal.
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gifBear- yes, I did the taxidermy myself. I used to do the tanning to but found that sending them off (to the tannery) is much easier /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I really like the concept of shoulder mounts for small game (there is a huge variety avaliable) they take up less space.
This is the first small game shoulder I have done and I am anxious to see how well comes accoss to my customers.
I figure a mount like this will run around $300, depending on base work.

Sweet Job!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Nice work huntingal. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif I've seen very experienced taxidermists screw up a coyote. You should be proud! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
