Groundhog Distress??? Great Sound.

I've never used this sound, just heard it for the first time and thought it was great. Anyone using Groundhog or Prairie Dog Distress with success on predators??? When I heard it, I thought it was really busy, urgent, high-pitched, and had some great potential for calling all kinds of things from foxes to bears. We don't have any dirtdogs or chucks anywhere around here, so they'd be non-native, and nothing like any desert coyote's ever heard before. Maybe that's a good thing??

What do you think of Groundhog Distress?? How's it working? Are groundhogs native to your area?

I hunted up in eastern wa. this year and I have hunted that area for years and have never seen a rabit or any sign of a rabit but I have killed alot yotes with a high pitch cottontail. So I think it will work

I can speak to the groundhog "Distress" in New England.

We call them "Whistel Pigs" here also, and in a large field, when one whistles, all of them hit their holes, and you can take a nap for an hour or two, cuz they ain't coming back up til the danger is gone.

I have tried the WT ground hog distress sound for awhile. Called in one coyote and one deer. Given how much I tried it I didn't think it was very effective.

I'd sure like to stick an alligator clip on a "whistle pig's" ankle and get him to sing for the microphone. I'd like to try that sound on a desert coyote and see if they're easier to call than those back east. We started live trapping a few months ago and we've had some fun doing it. Never know what you'll find in the morning.

I have the WT and have called several groundhogs here in SE KY with that sound, but haven't tried it on yotes. I have both the adult and baby groundhog distress sounds.
