Gunbroker, and PayPal

I tried to withdraw money from my PayPal account. I was informed that my account was frozen because of policy violations. I had listed PayPal as a payment option for a rifle on Gunbroker. Pay Pal can not be used for firearms, parts, or accessories, ammunition, weapons, or knives. After I removed PayPal as a payment option for the rifle, and went through their resolution process they thanked me, and reinstated my account.

I used to be a knife dealer and sold knives and misc hunting stuff on ebay and never had any trouble with paypal. Never sold guns but knives never was a problem for me.

If it'd been me, I'd have withdrawn all my money, and would have then dropped the account.

I don't do business that way, and won't do business with those who do.

I had a bad experience with with both EBAY (itself, never a problem with a seller) and PayPal.

I got a credit card to use exclusively with PayPal. I entered it into their system. About 3 weeks later, before I had even used it for anything, I got a call from the credit card company wanting verification that a charge for over $300.00 worth of auto parts at a store in MN was a legitimate charge. I said it wasn't, card company rep said, "no problem, we'll take care of it", and they did.

I closed my PayPal account, never opened another.

My EBAY account was hacked somehow, they had a big rash of that happening a couple of years ago. It started to get ugy and I couldn't contact EBAY to get it fixed. I finally got it streightened up but haven't bought anything there since.

fitch i had the same problem and never got all my money back from the sorry SOBs ebay and paypal was no help at all. Then to make matters worse i was on direct pay with ebay and they were chargeing my card before the due date. well i didnt keep money in there because of the theft so i would put money in when it was due. they caused me 4 ovedraft charges and ebay even after i sent them the papers showing it said nope not are fault. so i fixed there azzz i ran up a 350.00 bill and closed my bank account. when they started calling i told them well its not my fault. finally a year later i paid the collection company 100.00 to settel my account and not go on my credit report. i got my over draft charges back after all.

Only used ebay for a purchse once. Had to set up a paypal account to do it. No problems. Now you have to have a paypal account to pay for anything. No thanks.

But every so often I get an email from someone about the account. Never been from paypal so how did they even find out that I ever had an account with them?

Those are just Phishing emails. They're sent out to almost anyone with and email address. Most spam filters pull them nowdays. DO NOT EVER respond to those kind of emails. If you suspect that is legitimate then log onto your paypal or ebay account and you will find the query there. Don't ever give any account information out by responding to an email. Better safe than sorry. Dave

Yeah, Paypal is owned by eBay and I used to do a lot of personal and business buying and selling on ebay and used to use Paypal a lot, too, but no more.

They are ANTIs pure and simple and as such I no longer do business with either of them.
