I hate sandblasted finish especially if it's blued. As in Ruger Hawkeyes. Love the guns hate the finish. Hope the " powers that be" read this.

Remington 597 .17HMR.

In my opinion the problem with .17 HMR's in semi-autos has more to do with lawyers than any inherent risk to the operator.

I still own one and love the gun. Works flawlessly.

Browning A-5
Marlin leverguns with walnut stocks without checkering and safety.
Old Contenders
Rem xp 100

Win. 88 I have one! Still shoots sub MOA

Remington Nylon 66, best truck gun ever made

Win. 9422

Ruger 77 with tang safety,it's where they all should be.

Lever actions "without" a safety, the ugly lawyer wart is completely worthless on this type gun.

I would have to say the Winchester Model 52 for sure. One of the most consistant rifles I've ever fired.

Had one many moons ago, and sure wish I still had it.

The 121 gets my vote too. First gun I ever killed anything with, fox squirrel with my grandpa, he still has the gun.

My second vote would be:
BRNO 611 22 magnum
Would much rather have one of these than the 10/22 magnum.

Another vote for the Winchester 88. A matching set in 243, 284, 308, 308 carbine, 358, 358 carbine would tickle me pink.

I do wish I could get me Dad's 88 carbine back. He sold it to buy a digital camera 5 years ago. He didn't think I'd be interested in an old beat up lever gun.

This is a great thread. Brings back lots of good memories of classics. I will add mine:

Winchester Model 12. Great gun and still my favorite upland piece. It just comes up so perfectly. I like other pumps, Wingmasters, BPS's, the Rem 31, but there is just a mystique about the Mod 12. It will never be made again but they are not hard to find in pretty much any flavor, except 28 gauge (wish I had one!)

Benelli Super 90. I still like these better than the M2's. I think the cryogenic barrels are great on the M2 but you can keep the comfortech stocks.

10/22 Magnum. I still don't know why these got canned. A simple (better) extractor fixed mine and it has run flawless since. These would sell like hotcakes if they hit the market again.

Winchester Model 62. These were fun to shoot and the ones I have shot are super accurate and great plinkers.

Some of these guns I know of some I will have to search the net-
The only one I can add is the Win. mod 100 in 308--

Handled one fell in love with the feel--ran across another at pawn shop didn't have the funds,,,see them now and again on Gunbroker just not when I have the extra!!
