I have done the same thing myself.Years ago I couldnt find any H4895, so i switched to IMR. Load 204, 22-250, 243, and 6 Creed with it. I didnt see much difference between the 2 after reworking the load.
unfortunatly - you cant ship powder without being a licensed hazmat shipper to begin with. and its 100% not worth trying to sneak it by... the penalty for getting caught shipping hazmat without the proper permitting is approaching $100k - and thats for a shipment that does 0 damage.I look at some of the little stores around here. There is a little outdoor store in Glasgow, MT . They have surprised me in the past with what they have. During the worst of the shortages, I managed to get five pounds of Varget which is one of my go to powders. If I find it I will get it for you and ship it with the bill. No one understands more than me that when something works for you that you don’t want to change it up. No guarantees though.
What a pain in the neck they have turned it into. It used to be you declared what it was , packed it in regulation packaging and slapped a hazmat sticker on it.unfortunatly - you cant ship powder without being a licensed hazmat shipper to begin with. and its 100% not worth trying to sneak it by... the penalty for getting caught shipping hazmat without the proper permitting is approaching $100k - and thats for a shipment that does 0 damage.
