Hand Primers???

I've owned them all, and recently discovered 21st Century's SS priming tool.....and ended up selling my Sinclair to buy a second one so I could keep one set up on large primers and one on small.

They're not cheap, but the quality and engineering are top notch.

I am new to hand loading and wanted a Lee. Tried to find one for several months. You could get the primer but the shell holders were backordered for several months. So I bought the RCBS with the universal shell holder and I am very satisfied. Of course it is the only hand primer I have used. In my brief experience though almost anything is better than priming off the press.

Another vote for the Lee. Been using the same one for the last 20+ years. Used my buddies RCBS a few weeks ago and you couldn't run fast enough to give me one. Normally I am a big fan of RCBS but his was awful. FWIW, this is the only RCBS product that I have ever used that has been a POS.

I have used Lee's for a long time. Just broke my 4th one. Yes, they will break if you use them enough.

Going to have to break down and try the new version of the Lee.

Tried a RCBS once and it was a ginormous POS.

Where do the primers go?

The new version of the Lee can be a troublesome PIA.
I made a couple of new stainless steel handles with a mill and band-saw.
Not sure when I could get a couple more made, but keep the old assembly and I`ll see what I can do.

ETA- yes, I also wondered where do the primers go? I think someone once posted a similar tool that used parts from the old style Lee primer.

I have two of the old lee's that are still going and one is over 30 years old and the other probably 25 years old. I got one of the newer ones and it broke after a few months. I did not like it at all.
Heard there was something else coming out soon from Holland. I guess it's not out yet but here is the website. Click on reloading.

I have the el cheapo RCBS and its a POS. we just bought a Hornady but I haven't used it yet. A friend bought the RCBS with the universal shell holder and it felt a lot better that the POS that came with my rock chucked kit.

I have primed thousands of cases with my RCBS with narry a hiccup. I first owned a Lee, and it broke not long after I got it. I got another RCBS in a trade, it runs fine as well. They both take a RCBS shell holder. If you try to run them with another brand of shell holder you will have problems.

I've also used the Lee for quite a few years. I drilled a hole through the handle, tapped it and ran a small stainless bolt through it. I put a nut on both sides did some trial and error and I ended up with a tool that sets the primer just right every time.
