Handgun for coyotes?

I like and handload for the 38Super, 125gr XTP, N105 powder knocking on 1500fps out of a 1911 Colt Government. It's a wicked combination with extremely fast split times.

We have a lot of lions and large black bears where I live, for now the Super is in the safe and I'm carrying a M29 Mountain with 255gr WFNs, too much "stuff" near the house.

Definitely overkill for coyotes or feral dogs, but good for feral hogs and the very remote chance of a bear encounter.
