Today, we celebrate 189 years of Texas Independence!
On March 2, 1836, 59 brave delegates signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, officially declaring independence from Mexico and establishing the Republic of Texas. From the Battle of the Alamo to VICTORY at San Jacinto, Texas has a proud history of fierce battles and courageous sacrifices that helped shape the state we call home.
Our rich heritage reminds us of the resilience and bravery of those who fought to make Texas the land of freedom, opportunity, and independence it is today. The spirit of those who paved the way for Texas continues to inspire me each and every day.
