Harris bipod QD question

I have a Harris bipod and LaRue QD pic rail adapter. It is a great set up. However....I would rather replace the Harris attachment method (knurled knob that pinches the arms onto the sling stud) with a regular bolt.

Has anyone done this? Really what I'd like is a threaded end on the LaRue adapter instead of the sling stud if that makes any sense. That way I could just bolt the Harris to the LaRue and it would be rock solid. Occasionally the existing Harris attachment method comes loose. I'd rather torque it and forget it.

I know exactly what you mean, unfortunately I don't think there is any on the market... cbass is in the process of doing some hi end QD bipod adapter youtube reviews, should be a really informative review... I have a similar QD set up as the Larue, only its the Harris Rota-Pod with a push button instead of a throw lever, and it allows for a right and left rotation, really easy to smoothly follow and lead a running or moving target.

That's what I'm after (and what I should have bought first), but since I already have the bipod and the QD mount it's not worth $180 to me....kind of feel the same way about the Atlas (you gotta really want it!).

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I might just make an attachment by grinding down a bolt to fit into the Larue QD mount.

Atlas QD bipod

This looks like a great set up, I have a few Accu-shot monopods, never tried their bipods, may have to give this a look... only con is the price.

Skinney, they are pricey, but they are lighter than a Harris swivel, they have standard leg notches and leg extensions that can be added. There is a variety of foot choices available for them, they pan and swivel, and have much less flex than the Harris. The legs can also be locked independently at the forward and backwards positions as well as perpendicular to the rifle and at 45° angles forward and backward. My only complaint so far is that it is no where near as fast to deploy as my Harris leg notched swivel.

Here they are at folded and 45°

FWIW I ended up making the part I needed for free. There's probably only 4 guys who need the application, but here you go.

I took a bolt I had laying around, ground it down to the right diameter, and used the Dremel cutting wheel to cut a slot to allow a flat blade screwdriver to hold the bolt when the nut was tightened. Then I used the Dremel to cut off the original Harris tightening assembly.

Next used the Dremel to sand down rough spots from the cutting and dabbed on some primer for the bare metal. I dabbed on some flat black and finished with some plasticote spray on rubber coating to make all the alien parts flat black.

The result:
