is there any factory ammo out yet that you can buy for the 6x45. I know that blackhills is making some but I have not found any yet. I do reload but I want some brass with the right headstamp on it.

Dakota Ammo: "We are currently out of the ammunition you ordered; your order will be placed on a backorder status. At this time, we do not have an estimated ship date as we are waiting on components to build your ammunition."

Is what I was told the morning after I ordered. I asked, and none of the 6x45 ammo was currently available.

I may be wrong but to my knowledge no one makes brass labeled 6X45mm yet... all loads are .223 brass sized and ready to shoot. If you are concerned about mixing up ammo one thing I have done is to use Remington 7 1/2 primers(gold colored) for all my .223's and use CCI BR4's(silver colored)for 6X45mm so that I can do a quick verification when in doubt. I also use certain color ammo boxes and even use 3 different colored mags in AR's to help prevent mix-ups.Probably some better ideas than that out there so maybe someone can chime in on that.

A certain company in Nebraska took quite a few deposits from some of us to produce some correct headstamp 6x45.....Sort of like waiting on that first batch of 6.8 SPC.

Similiar to venatics strategy, I use different colored markers on the case head. I also use this while working up loads to bring to the range for testing. Index card in ammo box green head indicates xx.xgr of powder red case head xx.xgrs of powder etc.
