They recently sent me one of each version in the packaging, so I assume it is available for shipping to the dealers. Ask for it at your local sporting goods dealer. They can order it.

I ordered two different attractor models they should be here next week. I will check back with a little review later. Thanks for the help!

I'm intrested in this unit but have a question about the 12volt 23amp battery, is this a rechargable bat or does it have to be replaced? If it is a replaceable bat. are thay availible locally, it doesn't sound like a common battery.

Thanks

It is my understanding that it is available at the largest of retailers. It probably will not be found at the local mom and pop variety of stores. The capacity of the battery is such that it will run the transmitter for quite a long time. Hopefully it will not be much of an issue for the average user. It is not rechargeable and you are correct, it is not a common battery.

I bought one the other day. Great looking little unit. VERY portable. SOUNDS GREAT too. Seems to be a well thought out design.

I had to work, so I couldn't take it out, yet. So, I decided to "test" it on our house cat...

I set it near the sofa, and pushed the remote button from the next room... The cat (who was sleeping in the window) INSTANTLY jumped on top of the Unit and started chewing on the plastic casing... Of course (five minutes later) she was bored and ignored it... But, I just want the thing to ATTRACT my predator, it's MY job to make sure El Coyote doesn't have the TIME to get "bored" with it...

I'm looking forward to getting it into the field (but we've had some fog here lately, not smart with a .308 ).

I have had one problem, but it's probably just a minor technical glitch, which I expect to solve easily. The speaker now plays continuously, and the remote won't turn it off or change the sound.

I'm contacting WalMart about exchanging it. It's probably got a contact stuck or something in the remote control.

I'll post again after I've exchanged this one, and gotten it into the field a couple of times.

Safe Huntin' to all...

I called up a grey fox and the guard dog on our deer lease with one just last weekend. We had no wind that morning and the fox and dog both showed up about the same time from opposite directions from a couple hundred yards away.

The guard dog ran up and put his nose on the Attractor. The fox just stood out away and barked a warning bark.

I had a simular problem happen on one of the 5 that I recieved. I turned it on and then off a couple of times and it seemed to work after that. Keep me posted on what you experience with that unit. We want you to be happy with it.

I appreciate your reply GS. I received exactly what I expected this afternoon.

Hunter Specialties replied to my E-Mail promptly. I'll be returning the unit to them tomorrow (shipping paid by HS) for a replacement.

The problem seems to be in the Remote. Sometimes I turn the Unit on, and I get Puppy Distress (which won't turn off...). Other times I turn it on and get NOTHING (which won't turn ON).

They said this was the first they'd heard of this problem.

I expect the replacement will work just fine.

Tough luck for local Coyotes... (snicker)

Thanks, again for your interest (and your GREAT videos & other products).

AWS, the battery that is used in this unit is commonly used in Garage Door openers. I found it at Lowe's and Radio Shack. It was supposed to be at Circuit City but they must have been out. The Lowes price was $3 for an Energizer 2 pack. The Radio Shack price was outrageous. $4 for a single, $7 for a two pack their brand.

Jesse at the repair center related that he could not find it at Walmart. The JSGC repair center looks like it is going to stock this battery for around a $1.50 or so. They have a supplier that can supply them in bulk with no fancy packaging.

My suggestion is that a person should buy one and keep it in the bag he carries his Attractor in because they simply are not going to find one easily in small town America.

Thanks for the tip! I receieved one of my callers predator I and am really impressed with it. First it has much better sound than the other mini callers I have tried in the under $40 price range. Second I like the "stop" calling button and caller has enough volume for 90% of my use's when predator calling. I hunt heavy woods and most calling is done close range so 200-300 yards is a lot of ground in timber. I think this is the best mini caller in it's price range plus it has a remote I can see myself owning several of these little suckers! And again great JS sounds and clear make it a winner in my book.

Thanks for the great testamonial Phantom223. It is particularly rewarding to hear from someone who is target market so to speak. This caller is ideal for your style of hunting. It will ge a really useful addition to anyone's gear bag. I am really looking forward to using it in conjunction with my mouthcalls. I can use it to work them the last few yards and distract their attention away from me. Thanks again.

Well I tested predator I Attractor model last evening on my lease and called in two single coyotes and one pair of yotes.I dropped the singles and the pair over ran past me before I could get a shot and winded me from the backside. I was using the cottentail sound on medium volume. I was going back this evening, but the oldlady guilted me into cooking dinner and staying at home for once. Saturday I am going out again to try once more I can't wait the weather has taken on a fall feel with nice cool evenings and mornings. It's so nice from the 100+ degree heat we had all summer.

Well, ALRIGHTY THEN! Now, after seeing the Post from Phantom223, I can't WAIT until mine arrives (maybe today via UPS) so I can get out there and try it in the FIELD...

It's cooling off in Colorado too. They'll be furring up real soon.

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Go get 'em fellas! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Congratulations Phantom223. If you took any pictures, I know HS would be thrilled to see them. Great testamonial.

I bought one today at Walmart.I'm impressed with the unit and can't wait to field test it.Our yote season opens in four days. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I bought one and have played with it in the yard. Doubt that it will ever leave the barn. I know I am hard of hearing. I know that a 30 dollar unit is not going to be very powerful. I know that a coyote has much greater hearing. But at 30 yards, I can not even hear the thing!
Have to walk up to it to tell if it is even playing!
Oh well.

Ozark Charlie

I thought the same thing when I first turned it on until every bluejay in a 1/4 mile zoomed in on my backyard.

I think it will be a great little caller to go along with hand call and it's realy light weight.

I bought one to check it out. I was hopeing it would be a little louder than it is. As was stated earlier-- it should work well in combination with hand calls (I will just place it with the decoy). I do like the sounds on it, it does sound good (to me anyway).

Then I got an idea and plugged it into an old Dennis Kirk caller--- the one that uses the sony walkman type tape player pluged into the amp. It worked great this way--- sounds much better than sounds played useing the cassete player which seem to produce more 'hiss noise'.

I will get use out of mine useing it both ways (amped and bare).

I guess I have super hearing I don't even use the high volume setting myself on my attractor. I put it in the middle level set it out in front of me about 35 yards and let it rip. I am hunting more wooded country with a few hay fields and open bottems mixed in. I usally set and move 1/4 to 1/2 mile between sets. The call is really doing good for me I call up a few yotes everytime I go out and the sound is very clean no static to it. I have tried several different callers on the market and nothing ever called more yotes and bobcats for me than the JS callers. I think the animals around here just like there sounds better for whatever reason even the basic JS tape player brought then running everytime. I bought a $500 name brand digital caller and never called in one animal. I gave up and sold it. It was built well and sounds good to me I guess the sounds just weren't the best for around here. The JS wood pecker and cottentail sounds gets them everytime around here.
