Yeah! That was very cool, GW, 41 and Jeb all three were there and took the phone.

It seems odd that Rush has been on that long. Time really flies! I saw him in person in '93 down at "Dan's Bake Sale" down in Ft Collins, CO. That was a GREAT time! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I've learned a lot for listening to him over the years--still do, too, every day I can listen.

It is not surprise that the Left seeks to take him off the air via reviving the so-called "Fairness Doctrine." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Rush learned long ago that smart political radio was hard to make money on. He realized that if he pandered to the ignorant masses, and told them what they wanted to hear, he would become wealthy. I don't think he believes half the crap he says, the biggest joke is on the listeners or maybe the listeners in general, not him.

In case you are serious, I'd need to know what you mean by "smart political radio." If you give an example of this then your post will be clearer to me and I can attempt a cogent response.

"Smart political radio"...I don't really see you as an NPR or Air America fan. Maybe Jim Hightower? He has that down-home, Will Rogers* reminiscent delivery with a Left/Populist message. I'm not sure whether he is still on the air, but I could see you as a somewhat more centrist Hightower guy. Am I close or way off mark?

Of course, that was back when the Democrat party wasn't liberal and honestly tried to work for the middle and lower-middle class.

If you want to talk "Big Oil" then you must either be referring to foreign owned oil companies or our government, which is it?
 
Don't know about you guys but I tune in here every night to catch up on the Daddyrabbit Comedy Hour.For a while I kept trying to figure out what appeared on the surface to be a good command of dry wit.But after some contemplative efforts I am now convinced that in Drs case Its hard to get the big picture when your screen is so small.

The funny thing is DR is that the libs. listen to him as well, and even take some of his ideas and use them. All ya gotta do is listen to the lib. operated media and you'll here Rush's name mentioned over and over and over. IF what Rush says is "crap", why would the libs. even have any reason to want him and other conservative talk shows shut down, under the "fairness" rule!! Why is it that the libs. don't have successful talk radio?? Come on DR, I'm sure you have an idea why libs. don't have successful talk radio!!

Considering how this thread is going, I'd like to stop for a second and point something out!!

The worst criticism of Rush is try to pass of what he says as a big joke on all of us dumbarses. I haven't heard anything better than that from even the most pablum-puking Rush haters I know at work! Funny isn't it? We should be laughing at how the left has the inability to actually ARGUE any facts that Rush brings up...there's your comedy!

BTW-bonus Neocon, right-wing radical brownie points if you can identify who used to say 'pablum puking' on HIS show...now we're going back a bit...

As long as we're reminiscing...I should go ahead and add that I've listened to Rush since he first hit the airwaves here in Big D. We even used to watch his TV show-REMEMBER THAT!?!?!? Somewhere we still have many episodes taped. Need to hit the archives and see what turns up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
