Have you ever heard a real life rabbit in distress?

Whacked one with my bow in the back yard a few years back, he was killing my young fruit trees. I hit him at about 35 yds with a bludgeon tip( big blunt )and penetrated clean through his side up to the fletches. He kept spinning around in circles like a pinwheel and screaming. It was a little embarrasing, my neighbors heard the noise and came running in time to see me monkey stomping this poor little bunny trying to finish him off /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif.

Thats funny...
I had a bunch if ferrel cats that were getting into my chickens. One day we pulled into the drive and there was a cat coming from the coupe. I pulled my little .22 pistol out and shot him. He ran next door and died at the steps to their front porch, they were having a birthday party for one of their kids on the porch with family an all...lol

Yes I have. We used to whack jackrabbits when I was stationed in Northern CA. Sometimes they weren't hit with the full load and they would scream and bawl until we put a killing shot in them. They are loud and they don't stop until they die.

I remember shooting one in the back legs and that thing made a heck of a racket when my beagle grabbed ahold of it.

Last year was the first season for my wife to deer hunt and on our way to our stand, a coyote cut loose. It was well before sun up and the thing couldnt have been more than 25 yards away. My wife almost turned around and headed back to camp...lol I cant imagine if she would have heard a rabbit screaming while a coyote snarled.

Got a chance to shoot several hundred jacks in the blzzard days last winter. My buddy wounded a few with his .22 lr that would scream for ya. The .204 took the screamer right out of most of them for me.

Back in my more adventurous times, as youngs hell-yuns we would fish for rabbits with barbwire. Worked pretty slick but we always got screamers.

I can imagine how you would turn a little red after doing something like that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I was young I shot jackrabbits by the hundreds. One time I was just screwing around shooting ground squirrels and jacks and shot one with my 243 and when I approached it the veins in it's ears stood out and it started screaming. It was so pathetic I felt pretty bad about the whole thing. I finished it off and quietly headed back to the truck. It ruined my hunt and the worst part was my wife was with me and started crying. She wasn't one to shed tears over much.

I've only killed rabbits once since then on a special hunt specifically for jacks. I'd rather kill coyotes.

yes back when i fist started hunting coyotes, when i got home i bought a p.s.olt duck call and made a distress call and howler out of it.tried to copy the rabbit, and the coyotes i heard howling.

I shot a squirrel once with my bow. Hit him a little back and he was running around the woods with the end of his guts attacted to my arrow that was stuck in the ground.

MESSY MESSY

I stopped shooting squirrels with a bow after that
